Spectacular display for Festival of Lights
A Diwali and Annakut Exhibition has opened at Parliament House, organised by a range of Indian community associations.
The exhibition celebrates the Festival of Lights.
Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists to mark different historical events, but they all symbolise the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, hope over despair.
A highlight of the celebration is the offering of Annakut, that involves a vast array of vegetarian food arranged in tiers, resulting in a spectacular display.
The exhibition can be viewed in Queen’s Hall until 27 October.
