Cutting edge education showcased
New and cutting edge approaches to parliamentary education have been considered at a conference held at Parliament House in Melbourne.
Attended by parliamentary educators from across Australia and the South Pacific, the conference was opened by Legislative Council President Bruce Atkinson and included a keynote presentation by Dr Andrea Carson, Lecturer in Media and Politics from Melbourne University.
The conference program provided opportunities for educators to share information about activities and resources they have developed to engage teachers and students with parliament.
The Melbourne Museum, local technology company Phoria and the Foundation for Young Australians also presented at the conference.
In addition, conference delegates visited the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) to experience the educations programs they coordinate and their use of technology in education.
