There are numerous organisations working tirelessly across Victoria, in response to fires that are causing widespread devastation. The need for additional funds to support this vital work has been expressed by many of these organisations. The following list provides some options that may be useful if considering where to direct a cash donation.
The Victorian Government has teamed up with The Salvation Army and Bendigo Bank for the appeal, with all funds going to communities in need.
The Red Cross contributes to a variety of efforts, such as supporting people at evacuation centres and providing emergency assistance, like cash grants to people who have lost their homes.
Salvation Army teams have been activated at multiple locations, with a number of teams on standby ready to activate should they be required at other evacuation centres. Your generous donation will help to deliver crucial support right when it's needed and help local communities make a full recovery.
Vinnies’ bushfire appeal helps provide food, clothing and money that bushfire victims may need to pay their bills.
You can choose to donate to a CFA brigade of your choice via the Brigades Donations Fund (specifying the brigade you want the funds to go to) or alternatively to CFA generally via the CFA Public Fund which supports volunteer leadership and development training.
Donations to the Wildlife Victoria bushfire appeal will be distributed to wildlife shelters and carers to help rebuild enclosures and equipment that they have lost in the fires so that they can continue their lifesaving work, and support those that are struggling to cope with the enormous number of animals that will need care in the coming weeks and months.
As a voice for wildlife, Zoos Victoria is devastated by the impact of the bushfire crisis on precious species and their habitat and is determined to assist in all aspects, including through raising much-needed emergency funds.
