Opportunities with India explored

A parliamentary delegation from India has visited Victoria to explore opportunities for deeper ties.

Led by Minister of State Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the delegation was welcomed to Melbourne by Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Telmo Languiller and President of the Legislative Council Bruce Atkinson.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags have been flown on top of Victoria’s Parliament House as a sign of respect for National Sorry Day.

The flags will be flown at parliament throughout National Reconciliation Week.

Governor receives address in reply

The Governor of Victoria has received the Address-in-Reply from both houses of the Victorian Parliament.

In separate ceremonies held at Government House, the Address-in-Reply from the Legislative Assembly was presented by Speaker Telmo Languiller and from the Legislative Council by President Bruce Atkinson.

This will be the first public hearing for the parliamentary inquiry into the CFA training college at Fiskville.

An innovation conference held at Parliament House in Melbourne has showcased growing education links between Victoria and Ecuador.

Ecuadorian students studying at the University of Melbourne arranged the Ecuadorian Ideas that Matter conference to promote innovation and encourage networking between Ecuadorians and Australians.
