People's house lives up to its name

With Parliament House not usually open on weekends, hundreds of Victorians, as well as interstate and international visitors took the opportunity to see inside one of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks.

New interns welcomed

This semester there are 14 students from La Trobe University and Swinburne University of Technology, and they will prepare research reports in consultation with members of parliament.

Deafhood team makes Youth Parliament history

YP2017 DfhoodFor the first time in its 31-year history, a deaf team has participated in the Youth Parliament of Victoria.

Coordinated through a partnership between Deaf Children Australia and the YMCA, the six-member Deafhood team introduced a Youth Parliament bill relating to public transport accessibility.

Parliament unites in praise for Assembly Clerk

Ray PurdeyState leaders and MPs from all sides of politics have thanked and congratulated Legislative Assembly Clerk, Ray Purdey for his immense contribution to Parliament and Victoria.

Mr Purdey has announced his retirement after a career in Parliament spanning 43 years, including almost 19 years as Clerk of the Legislative Assembly and almost 17 years as Clerk of the Parliaments.
