CWP Conference 2017Women MPs from across Australia have met at Parliament House in Melbourne and discussed ways to engage more women in politics.

The Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Conference brought together women from across the political spectrum to examine a range of issues, including family friendly parliaments, empowering women in leadership, social media engagement, and political violence against women.

Fiona Richardson was the Member for Northcote, Minister for Women and Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence.

People's house lives up to its name

With Parliament House not usually open on weekends, hundreds of Victorians, as well as interstate and international visitors took the opportunity to see inside one of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks.

This semester there are 14 students from La Trobe University and Swinburne University of Technology, and they will prepare research reports in consultation with members of parliament.
