There are 128 members of the Parliament of Victoria, representing the people of Victoria. There are 88 members of the Legislative Assembly, each representing one district, and 40 members of the Legislative Council. Victoria is divided into eight regions and five Council members represent each region. As a result each citizen is represented by one Assembly member and five Council members in the Parliament of Victoria.
