Shepparton Visit

The Parliament of Victoria visited Shepparton as part of a three day visit to the towns of Mooroopna, Tatura, Numurkah and Nathalia.

The presentations were part of activities celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the Committees Act 1968 and covered:

  • the history and role of Victoria Parliament and how it operates
  • how government is formed
  • the role of parliamentary committees
  • significant achievements of parliamentary committees
  • how local communities can participate in the parliamentary process


Staff from Parliament House explained the work of parliamentary committees using video clips, props (including a replica Mace and gowns) and goggles for a 3D tour of Parliament House.
