Our server automatically records information relating to your use of the system. This information may include, but is not limited to things like IP address, date and time of the visit, pages or documents accessed during the visit and other browser related information such cookies and the type of browser used.
The information collected will only be used for the purposes of operating, maintaining and improving the e-petitions or other Parliamentary electronic services or as otherwise required by law.
Website Analytics
The Parliament of Victoria uses two web measurement services: Google Analytics and FullStory.
Parliament’s purpose in collecting usage data is to better understand how our visitors use the site and to use this information to improve the quality of services we provide.
Google Analytics - Use of Cookies
Google Analytics uses a first-party cookie and JavaScript code to collect information about visitors to www.parliament.vic.gov.au. Google Analytics anonymously tracks how our visitors interact with this website, including where they came from, what they did on the site, and whether they completed any transactions on the site.

FullStory
FullStory uses a first-party cookie and JavaScript code to collect information about your visits to www.parliament.vic.gov.au. It collects information on your use of our Site, such as pages visited, links clicked, non-sensitive and non-personally identifiable text entered, and mouse movements, as well as information more commonly collected such as the referring URL, browser, operating system, marketing, cookie information, and Internet Service Provider (“Usage Data”).
If you want to prevent your browsing data from being collected by FullStory, you can opt-out of the service at https://www.fullstory.com/optout/. Opting out will create a cookie that tells FullStory to turn off recording on any site which uses the FullStory Services.
How to Opt Out or Disable Cookies
Cookies used by www.parliament.vic.gov.au are enabled by default because of their integration into the website. If you do not wish to have cookies placed on your computer, you can disable them using your web browser. You will need to customise each web browser you use to turn off cookie tracking.
If you opt out of using cookies, you will still have access to all information and resources at www.parliament.vic.gov.au.
Survicate
Parliament uses the Servicate service to capture feedback about your experience using this website.
Parliament will not ask you to provide personally identifiable information via Survicate. If you choose to provide identifying information or if someone provides such information on your behalf, Parliament cannot be held liable.
If you choose to provide feedback about this site using Survicate, any data you enter is transferred to Survicate using HTTPS encryption and stored on Survicate servers for access by Parliament.
If you opt not to provide feedback using Survicate, your data will not be collected and captured by Survicate.

If you provide Site feedback using the Survicate service, Parliament may use the FullStory data collected for that session to understand the issues that lead to your feedback. This is done to get the best possible understanding of your user experience in order to improve the services we provide.
