Leader Newspapers 'Roll Up' competition.

Over the past months Leader Community Newspapers, in association with the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and the Victorian Electoral Commission, has given young filmmakers the opportunity to tell a story, devise an advertisement, or make a silent movie as part of its Roll Up competition. Entrants were encouraged to create a movie on the topic of enrolling to vote.

Members of the Committee Secretariat Mark Roberts, Natalie Wray and Nathaniel Reader attended the Roll Up award ceremony at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image on Thursday, 22nd November 2007.

The major prize of a Sony Handycam was awarded to Ms Hannah Moon for her short clip, "Don't Silence Yourself". Leader News readers were also asked to vote online at leadernews.com.au to select a 'People's Choice' winner. The prize of $1000, donated by the Victorian Electoral Commission, was awarded to Mr Steven Jackson for his video, "Your Vote Does Matter".
