Question on Notice
Mr Bull (Gippsland East) to ask the Minister for Mental Health — In recent months, two mental health support services in the Gippsland East electorate have gone into liquidation. As a result, clients of Within Australia and Barrier Breakers will be without essential mental health services at a time when these critical supports are already experiencing high demand. We wait with anticipation to learn further details about the promised two Mental Health Support Hubs to be introduced in Bairnsdale and Orbost in the coming months, however, there are concerns that our region will be at risk of under-servicing for mental health clients in the meantime.
(1) What actions are the Government taking to ensure East Gippsland residents have continued access to mental health supports at this time of two providers going into liquidation.
(2) What services can clients of all ages access locally to ensure their mental health treatment is uninterrupted, while navigating the disappointment and uncertainty caused by the withdrawal of their current care team.
