Question on Notice

Mr Battin to ask the Minister for Police for the Minister for Emergency Services — With regard to the Firefighters Presumptive Rights Compensation and Fire Services Legislation Amendment (Reform) Act 2019:

(1) How many claims for compensation under the scheme have been made by Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters.

(2) How many claims for compensation under the scheme have been made by FRV firefighters and subsequently approved.

(3) How many claims for compensation under the scheme have been made by Country Fire Authority (CFA) volunteers.

(4) How many claims for compensation under the scheme have been made by CFA volunteers and subsequently approved.

I can confirm the following with regards to claims made under the Firefighters Presumptive Rights Compensation and Fire Services Legislation Amendment (Reform) Act 2019:

(1)  There has been a total of 102 claims for compensation under the scheme have been made by Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters.

(2)  A total of 77 claims compensation submitted by FRV firefighters have been accepted.

(3)  A total of 34 claims for compensation under the scheme have been made by Country Fire Authority (CFA) volunteers.

(4)  A total of 28 claims for compensation submitted by CFA volunteers have been accepted.
