NORTHERN METROPOLITAN REGION
MR ONDARCHIE — To ask the Minister for Employment (for the Minister for Roads and Road Safety): My constituency question is to the Minister for Roads and Road Safety, and it is concerning my electorate—particularly Epping, in my electorate of Northern Metropolitan Region. I wonder if the minister could advise me so I can advise my constituents why a speed camera was set up on the feeder road to Epping RSL at 4:30 am on Anzac Day morning as thousands of local residents were arriving for the very important dawn service?

NORTHERN METROPOLITAN REGION The safety of motorists and pedestrians is a priority for the Government. Speed cameras are an important part of the Government’s strategy for maintaining road safety, but the placement and operation of speed cameras does not fall within my portfolio responsibilities. You may wish to address your question to the Acting Minister Police and Emergency Services, the Hon. Danny Pearson.
