Civic Gardens: Now and Then - Royal Exhibition Building Garden and Carlton Gardens
Join Michael Cook, heritage consultant and landscape architect, for the second in a series of online seminars presented by the Victorian Parliament in association with the Australian Heritage Festival 2021.
As an Associate with Lovell Chen, Michael is currently undertaking a Heritage Management Plan for the World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Garden and Carlton Gardens. Carlton Gardens is also the site where the Royal Exhibition Building hosted State Parliament from 1901 to 1927.
Michael draws on past experiences in planning and design across a range of public projects - from major civil infrastructure and streetscape improvements to small urban spaces in downtown neighbourhoods.
‘Civic Gardens: Now and Then’ is a special online series that brings together the leading experts behind some of our state's most prominent civic garden spaces: The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, the Royal Exhibition Building Garden and Carlton Gardens, and Parliament House Gardens.
