Golden glow highlights road safety
Parliament House turns yellow in the first week of May to promote road safety.
Organised for the United Nations Global Road Safety Week, Parliament House will join other iconic buildings and structures, including the Arts Centre and Bolte Bridge, to ‘Shine a Light on Road Safety’.
It’s an initiative of Road Trauma Support Services Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation that provides counselling and support to Victorians affected by road trauma. They also run education programs to address the attitudes and behaviours of road users.
As part of the event, motorists are being encouraged to turn on their headlights on Friday 1 May to show their commitment to road safety.
To see your parliament in a different light, come to Spring Street in the first week of May and help raise awareness of road safety.
