Connect with us in 2016

This year we’re celebrating the Victorian Parliament’s 160th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of our Hansard service, with a range of activities and events planned.

Our Open Day will be held on Sunday 6 March from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. See historic treasures, take a seat on the floor of parliament and stroll through our beautiful gardens. With a range of displays about parliament’s work and entertainment throughout the day, it’s a great chance to see inside one of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks and learn a bit more about how our democracy works.

One of the important ways to have your say about issues that affect you is to contribute to public inquiries by our parliamentary committees. To get regular updates about parliamentary committee inquiries, subscribe free of charge to our news alert service. Click on the subscription button at the top of this page or email and request the Victorian Parliament’s news alerts.

For teachers and students, we have a range of education programs and resources. To get regular updates on our education program, subscribe free of charge to our quarterly education e-bulletin Springboard by emailing:

We will soon be releasing our events calendar for the year, so like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to find out what’s happening at your parliament.
