Sharing experiences with Ontario’s Parliament
Tonia Grannum from the Ontario Parliament has undertaken a professional development program at the Victorian Parliament.
The attachment was arranged under a partnership agreement signed between the Victorian and Ontario Parliaments that encourages information and experience sharing.
Ms Grannum, Clerk of Procedural Services, was welcomed to Parliament House by the Victorian Parliament’s Presiding Officers and the heads of the three parliamentary departments.
Her program included opportunities to discuss with senior parliamentary staff the way in which each parliament conducts its procedures and manages its overall operations.
As parliamentary staff provide a range of services that are unique to parliament, professional development attachments are an important avenue for parliamentary administrations to share information and keep up to date with developments in other jurisdictions.
Tonia Grannum meets with the Presiding Officers and department heads from the Parliament of Victoria.
