The You, Me & MPs toolkit is designed to support and enhance engagement between culturally and linguistically diverse and faith communities, the Parliament of Victoria and Members of Parliament (MPs).
This toolkit was conceived, designed and delivered under the guidance of the Engaging Communities in Democracy (ECD) Project Advisory Committee. It is based on the lived experiences of people in the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne together with feedback provided by local MPs and electorate officers.
The project was a joint initiative of the Parliament of Victoria and Eastern Community Legal Centre.
A workshop based on the toolkit was conducted in July 2023 at Box Hill Town Hall. The workshop brought together a range of culturally and linguistically diverse community representatives and local MPs to support the community in better understanding how parliament works, how they can connect with MPs and how the community can advocate for issues that matter to them.
