Auslan bulletin makes parliamentary information more accessible

Developed in consultation with members of Victoria's Deaf community, the Auslan Parliament Bulletin provides information on legislation, committee inquiries, community events and resources.

The idea for the bulletin originated from discussions between Parliament’s community engagement team and a group of young Deaf community members who participated in Youth Parliament.

The aim of the project is to make parliamentary information more accessible and includes development of a parliamentary vocabulary in Auslan.

Some parliamentary terms in sign language were previewed during National Week of Deaf People in September last year.

The Auslan Parliament Bulletin is produced in partnership with Auslan Consultancy. It is posted to Parliament’s YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram.
