Several parliamentary inquiries are open to submissions from the public.
An inquiry into the supply of homes in regional Victoria is taking input until 31 March 2025.
The Legislative Assembly Environment and Planning Committee is looking at the methods of building homes and the mix of housing forms and types in the regions.
'The inquiry provides a significant opportunity for us to look closely at a range of housing issues including areas in most need of housing, workforce challenges in the construction industry and accommodation for regional workers in key sectors,' Committee Chair Juliana Addison said.
An inquiry into the redevelopment of Melbourne’s public housing towers is also open to submissions from the public until 31 March 2025.
The Legislative Council Legal and Social Issues Committee is evaluating the decision to demolish and redevelop the 44 high-rise public housing buildings and associated sites.
A separate inquiry into Ambulance Victoria, including the core issues impacting its management and functions is taking submissions until 28 February 2025.
The Public Accounts and Estimates Committee has launched its inquiry into fraud and corruption in local government. The closing date for submissions is Friday 7 March 2025.
'We are seeking submissions from a wide range of stakeholders, including community representatives, peak bodies and organisations with oversight of council activities,' Committee Chair Sarah Connolly said.
The Committee will only accept evidence relevant to the terms of reference. It will not consider individual complaints. Allegations of council fraud or corruption should be directed to the appropriate integrity agency.
A number of other inquiries are underway, with submissions, public hearing schedules, transcripts of evidence and reports all published online. You can check their progress anytime.
