Live captioning will now accompany all broadcasts of proceedings from both chambers of the Victorian Parliament.

In keeping with the Victorian Parliament’s Disability Action and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) the addition of captions will improve access and inclusion for all Victorians, particularly those with hearing impairments.

The captions will be generated using Artificial Intelligence with vocabulary lists uploaded daily for increased accuracy.

The vocabulary lists include members names and electorates, parliamentary terms and language and Notice Papers to include legislation being debated.

The livestream is available to watch via the parliament’s website.
