Council: 17th November 2005 - Colac


The Legislative Council met in Colac on 17 November 2005 at Colac Otway Performing Arts & Cultural Centre (COPACC).

The Regional Sitting followed a typical Thursday sitting program for the Chamber comprising of Prayer read, Messages, Formal Business, Members Statements, Statements on Reports, Government Business, Question Time and the Adjournment Debate.

The Regional Sitting in Colac officially launched the beginning of the year long celebrations of the 150th Anniversary of the Parliament of Victoria. The November launch coincided with the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of the Constitution Act of 1855.

The COPACC precinct featured a festival atmosphere run by the Colac Adult and Community Education Inc in partnership with the Colac Otway Shire entitled "Living in Harmony - Bridging the Gap". The festival featured music, dance, theatre and displays, and market stalls with local fresh produce and cultural foods.
