David DAVIS (Southern Metropolitan) (12:43): (26) My constituency question today is for the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, and the news today is that Corey Hannett, the major general or controller or whatever title you want to give him, has resigned. A number of projects in my electorate, including the Metro Tunnel – almost $3 billion over budget – and the level crossing removal program, on which the full costs have never, ever been released, with massive blowouts, he has oversighted, with blowout after blowout after blowout that has affected directly my electorate. There is the sky rail and the level crossing removal that has been so much in the news at Surrey Hills and Mont Albert in the recent period. The question I am asking is: is it a fact that he has been pushed, and will the government release a full statement on the cost blowouts on the Metro and the level crossings in my electorate which have been very much a part of his failure? I make it clear Devlin is no better. The others are no better either – (Time expired)
