Matthew BACH (North-Eastern Metropolitan) (12:50): (33) My question is for the Minister for Police in the other place. Will he join me and visit Glen Waverley police station in order to see firsthand why a significant upgrade is needed there? This is an old facility that supports over 160 fabulous staff. It is in need of a significant upgrade. I was pleased before the last election that the then Shadow Minister for Police made a pledge of some $40 million, and I think some funding in that broad ballpark would be necessary to do what is required in order to get this facility up to speed to serve of course the fantastic staff who work there and then of course the broader community. Now, sadly that was not matched at that time by the government. Well, the election has been and gone; it would be great now to work with the minister in order to get the good members of Victoria Police in Glen Waverley and more broadly then the community in Glen Waverley a facility that is up to scratch, a facility that is desperately needed.
