Yawa Aquatic Centre
Tom McINTOSH (Eastern Victoria) (09:54): I was also able to drop into Yawa Aquatic Centre in Rosebud and see their VICSWIM kids program. We know swimming is an incredibly important life skill. We want kids when they leave primary school to be able to swim 50Â metres. The centre delivered 17,000Â lessons to 11Â local primaries last year. It runs 370Â lessons per week. It is incredible what they are doing there. The centre is going from strength to strength. Starting with a handful of 2000 to 3000Â members, there are well over 5000 now. The community is getting into it, whether it is swimming, whether it is their wellness centre, whether it is the gym. It is an incredible facility and one that I am so glad we have been able to support.
