Mrs Bev McArthur
Meet Bev
Before entering Parliament, Bev was an elected Councillor of Corangamite Shire and a Federal political advisor. However, her favourite job was as stay-at-home mother to her three children while her husband served as a federal Member of Parliament.
Raising her children in Western Victoria, Bev was angered by what she saw as disregard shown to rural and regional communities by legislators and bureaucrats. This is what prompted her to run for Parliament.
The priorities Bev has for her community are expanding opportunity and securing infrastructure investment to foster growth and jobs. She wants to reduce the reach of government, removing laws and regulations that inhibit productive outcomes. Bev believes that communities in her area will flourish when people are free to be the truest expressions of themselves, without excessive government interference.
Bev's vision for Victoria’s future is that all individuals thrive regardless of geographic location, opportunity abounds, and effort is rewarded.
The areas of public policy that she is most passionate about are protecting agriculture against activist intervention, sustainable energy, practical environment management, non-discriminatory taxation, and outcome-focused services. Bev is also passionate about preserving of history, traditional values and language.
