John BERGER (Southern Metropolitan) (10:01): My second matter is I was deeply saddened to learn that the last Rat of Tobruk had passed away peacefully. Tom Pritchard was 102 and one of the last standing of the greatest generation. We all know the story and the sacrifice. The Rats of Tobruk held the Libyan port of Tobruk for 231Â days against the onslaught of the Nazi Africa Corps, but more than that he was a larrikin and a true-blue Aussie. Rest in peace.
