Concord School

Colin BROOKS (Bundoora – Minister for Development Victoria, Minister for Precincts, Minister for Creative Industries) (10:21): In 1973 Helen Reddy and Suzi Quatro were on the radio, Gough Whitlam was Prime Minister and the suburb of Bundoora was on the urban fringe of Melbourne, and Concord School, a fantastic specialist school in my electorate, opened its doors. Recently I had the pleasure of visiting Concord School on their special open day to celebrate more than half a century providing education to students with additional learning needs. It was day filled with lots of fun activities for local families. It was way for the community to reflect on the incredible journey the school has been on. I was also able to see the great new facilities completed after a $10 million investment from the Allan Labor government, which included a wonderful new two-storey classroom building. I want to say congratulations to Concord School.
